Fagor Group and Bihar S. Coop. have launched the DUINDUZ project
Fagor Group and Bihar S. Coop. have launched the DUINDUZ project to improve the working conditions of home care workers. This project proposes real solutions that benefit workers and families in need of care services.
The aim of the project is to improve the reality of the sector by tackling precariousness and fairly valuing its professionals. They have activated a pioneering programme of financial bonuses that will be in force for the next two years.
Confronting the impact of the black economy
In the Basque Country, 27% of workers in this sector do not have a formal contract, which exposes them to precarious working conditions. By adopting a specialised approach to home care, the collaboration between the Fagor Group and Bihar aims to establish fair and adequate working conditions for these workers.
Pioneering bonus programme
In order to carry out the project effectively, Fagor Group, fulfilling its mission of commitment to the social environment, has made a significant capital contribution to DUINDUZ. This investment allows the implementation of a bonus programme that benefits families associated with Fagor Group and people living in Debagoiena. Specifically, Fagor Group undertakes to make a financial contribution that could represent up to 380 euros per month for families using these services.
According to forecasts, with the contributions made, Fagor would support around 200 families at this stage. This initiative not only alleviates the financial situation of the families, but also contributes to improving the welfare of the carers, ensuring that they receive fair compensation and recognition for their valuable work. For its part, Bihar will ensure a personalised and professional home care service that is fully tailored to individuals and families.
