First meeting of the MONDRAGON Health Advisory Council

After a year since its launch, MONDRAGON Health has organized today at the Otalora cooperative experience center in Aretxabaleta, the first meeting of its Advisory Board, with the presence of companies such as: FENIN -Spanish Federation of Health Technology Companies-, Faes Farma, CIC bioGUNE and BM2 Health.

MONDRAGON Health brings together the solutions and services of eight of the Corporation’s cooperatives to multiply the options in the fields of health, socio-health and biotechnology. Bexen Cardio, Bexen Medical, Bihar Homecare, Erreka, Fagor Healthcare, GSR, LKS Next and Osarten created and launched the alliance of cooperatives a year ago with the aim of multiplying the added value of the service through intercooperation, from the production of components to the offer of services and solutions. An alliance that employs thousands of people.

The first MONDRAGON Health Medtech & Farma Advisory Council was held today in Otalora (Aretxabaleta, Gipuzkoa). The meeting was attended, among others, by the Director of MONDRAGON Health Hector Olabegogeaskoetxea and the representatives of the MONDRAGON Health co-operatives, accompanied by Unai Ayala Fernández, co-ordinator of I+T Health at Mondragon Unibertsitatea. Also in attendance were people from outside the Corporation, such as Tatiana Suarez Cortes from Faes Farma; Carlos Sisternas from Fenin, the Spanish Federation of Health Technology Companies; Donatello Castellana, from CIC bioGUNE; and Anna Pallarès, from BM2 health.

After an initial presentation of MONDRAGON Health and its cooperatives, the Council was introduced. In this first session, they worked on the themes of Medtech and Pharma, giving rise to an analysis of different topics, such as: market trends, technological advances, new opportunities and key and/or emerging markets in the field of medical devices; and the opportunities and needs of the pharma sector from the industrial side.
