Gerodan will be the ninth cooperative of the MONDRAGON Health alliance

Following the incorporation of Gerodan, MONDRAGON Health has, since September 1, added the solutions and services of nine of the Corporation’s cooperatives. The aim of MONDRAGON’s main alliance in the field of health is to multiply the options in sectors with enormous projection such as health, socio-health and biotechnology.

Bexen Cardio, Bexen Medical, Bihar Homecare, ERREKA, Fagor Healthcare, GSR, Gerodan, Osarten and LKS Next make up the alliance of cooperatives with the aim of gaining in size and recognition, and at the same time improving products and services through intercooperation, from the production of components to the catalog in the areas previously mentioned. A strategic alliance employing more than 2,000 people.

Gerodan offers comprehensive solutions and services in the fields of health care and hospitality. It designs and produces furniture adapted for dependent or disabled people, and furniture adapted for independent people wishing to enjoy their hotel stays.

Spain, France and the United Kingdom

Gerodan has become the ninth cooperative member of MONDRAGON Health, and also participates in the MONDRAGON Hospitality cluster, offering integral solutions in the hotel sector. Belonging to the MONDRAGON Corporation’s Equipment Division, it is a cooperative that employs 10 people, set up in October 2004 and specializes in geriatric, hotel and office equipment.

From its headquarters in Azpeitia, it operates in two main markets, Spain and France, and has begun its expansion with some operations in the United Kingdom.

Strengthening the position

The integration into MONDRAGON Health will offer Gerodan the possibility of accessing new markets and will in turn strengthen the brand’s image. According to Juan Larrañaga, the cooperative’s general manager, “Gerodan will contribute all its know-how, especially in equipping old people’s homes, but also in new projects in the field of health”.
