MONDRAGON Health analyzes the impact of longevity and aging on the healthcare sector
The alliance’s Advisory Council met for the second time to address a strategic issue together with companies such as Telefónica, Suara, Inforesidencias, Gerokon and Adinberri.
Otalora, MONDRAGON’s Management and Cooperative Development Center, has hosted the second meeting of the MONDRAGON Health Advisory Council. This time a strategic issue for both the alliance and the health sector was discussed: longevity and aging. The first session was held last June and served to approach Medtech and Pharma topics.
Among other issues, the meeting analyzed trends and market access in the residential, home and telecare sectors, as well as technological advances in the market. In addition, successful business models were identified, taking into account their organizational model and their care model, as well as competitors, in order to find out what can be learned from them.
The meeting was attended by members of the MONDRAGON Health Board of Directors and representatives of the cooperatives in the alliance, accompanied by Arantxa Gonzalez de Heredia, teacher and researcher in inclusive design at Mondragon Unibertsitatea. Also joining the session were Manuel Ángel Alonso, director of TELEFÓNICA’s Northern Territory; Ángels Cobo, director of digital transformation at SUARA; Josep de Martí, founder of INFORESIDENCIAS; Aitor Pérez, managing partner of GEROKON; and Rakel San Sebastián, managing director of ADINBERRI.
The purpose of these meetings is to reflect on strategic issues in the health sector, and to analyze and identify business opportunities. To this end, companies that are experts in the field and that are outside the cooperatives are invited to share knowledge and learn from their experience and point of view. In this way, the nine cooperatives that are part of the alliance, Bexen Cardio, Bexen Medical, Bihar Homecare, Erreka, Fagor Healthcare, Gerodan, GSR, LKS Next and Osarten, expand their knowledge to continue multiplying the added value of their service through intercooperation.
